Morales Professional seeks a seasoned 2nd Shift Operations Manager to lead a large, complex manufacturing facility. You will provide strategic direction to production leadership, oversee second-shift activities, and ensure safety, quality, and productivity targets are met.

You will develop teams, drive continuous improvement, and collaborate across maintenance, quality, engineering, and supply chain to optimize performance.

Our client is seeking an experienced 2nd Shift Operations Manager to lead production operations at a large, complex manufacturing facility. This is a senior-level leadership opportunity for an experienced manufacturing professional with a strong background in production management, team development, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

The Operations Manager will oversee second-shift production activities, provide strategic direction to production leadership, and ensure manufacturing operations meet established safety, quality, productivity, and performance objectives.

This individual will work closely with production managers, supervisors, maintenance, quality, engineering, and supply chain teams to improve operational efficiency, resolve production challenges, and support the overall success of the facility.

What You'll Do

As the 2nd Shift Operations Manager, you'll provide leadership and direction for second-shift manufacturing operations, ensuring production teams are aligned with organizational goals and performance expectations.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Lead and oversee second-shift production operations within a large manufacturing facility.
• Plan, organize, and manage production schedules to meet operational demands and customer requirements.
• Provide leadership, direction, and support to production managers, supervisors, and other team members.
• Supervise and develop large teams while promoting accountability, employee engagement, and strong performance.
• Ensure production activities meet established safety, quality, productivity, and operational standards.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), identify performance gaps, and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with maintenance, quality, engineering, supply chain, and other departments to resolve operational challenges.
• Ensure effective communication and coordination between departments and across production shifts.
• Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, reduce waste, optimize resources, and increase overall plant performance.
• Lead and support Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to improve manufacturing processes and productivity.
• Oversee operational resources and support budget management to ensure efficient utilization.
• Drive the adoption of new technologies, automation, and innovative manufacturing practices.
• Coach, mentor, and develop production managers and supervisors through regular feedback and performance evaluations.
• Identify employee development opportunities and support succession planning for key leadership positions.
• Foster a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Prepare operational updates and communicate production performance, challenges, and improvement initiatives to senior leadership.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, safety regulations, and applicable manufacturing standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field required.
• 8+ years of experience in manufacturing or production operations.
• At least 4 years of leadership experience managing teams in a complex manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated experience overseeing large-scale production operations and managing multiple priorities.
• Experience leading production managers, supervisors, and large manufacturing teams
• Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships across departments and organizational levels.
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive employee or business information professionally.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Experience with ADP, Workday, and Great Plains is preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
