Job summary

The Sterling Choice is partnering with an Automation & Intelligence business in Tomball, TX to hire an Operations Manager who will lead Project Management, Applications Engineering and Field Service, coordinating delivery and customer relations.

This senior role requires 8–10+ years in industrial automation, strong leadership, and a track record of managing engineering and field teams, with travel up to 25% and a focus on profitability and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years in industrial automation / controls / systems integration.
• Experience leading engineering, project and/or field service teams.
• Strong understanding of project financials and profitability.
• Customer-facing leadership experience.
• Water/wastewater experience preferred.
• Engineering, Business, Construction or Operations degree preferred, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a portfolio of automation projects across delivery, schedule, profitability and quality.
• Lead resource and capacity planning across PM, Engineering and Field Service.
• Monitor project financials, forecasting, cost and change orders.

I’m working with a growing Automation & Intelligence business looking to add an Operations Manager to its Tomball operation.

This is a key leadership role sitting across Project Management, Applications Engineering and Field Service, with responsibility for bringing those functions together and driving successful project delivery, operational performance and customer relationships.

What we're looking for

• 8–10+ years within industrial automation / controls / systems integration
• Strong project-based operations and leadership experience
• Experience managing engineering, project and/or field service teams

• Water/wastewater experience preferred
