Job summary

• Experience delivering construction projects with self-perform EPC contractors.
• Led Site Managers on multi-hundred-million projects from start to finish.
• Managed multiple projects simultaneously with focus on schedule, cost and safety.
• Proven track record of delivering gross margin on craft-focused projects.
• Extensive construction operations experience (10–20 years) with stable career history.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction, or equivalent.
• OSHA 10 certification.
• Trades background is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee two to three concurrent power generation projects from mobilization through turnover.
• Direct Site Managers on those projects and coordinate craft staffing and resourcing.
• Ensure construction readiness, gate reviews before mobilization and milestones.
• Manage scope, schedule, cost, quality and safety across multiple sites.
• Track productivity and cost performance with corrective actions as needed.
• Develop construction execution plans for live projects and proposals.
• Conduct constructability reviews to cut cost and schedule.
• Select and manage subcontractors and alliance partners.
• Maintain senior client relationships and develop the site leadership team.

Operations Manager: Advanced Power Generation

Location: Nationwide. Southeast preferred. Home-based, or at a regional office if you live within 50 miles of one.

Travel: 60%+, Monday to Friday, with expenses

The Company

Employee-owned EPC contractor building out construction leadership for its gas-fired generation business. It has a multi-year program of combined cycle and simple cycle projects starting in early 2027, each worth $500M to more than $1B. All work is self-perform.

The Role

You will oversee two to three concurrent power generation projects from mobilization through turnover, and the Site Managers on those projects will report to you. You will be responsible for craft resourcing, construction readiness, site performance and project gross margin across the portfolio.

What You Will Own

• Craft workforce strategy and staffing plans tied to each project's baseline schedule
• Construction readiness and gate reviews before mobilization and major milestones
• Delivery across scope, schedule, cost, quality and safety on multiple sites at once
• Productivity, cost and performance tracking, with corrective action where projects drift
• Construction execution plans for live projects and proposals: staffing, schedule, materials, equipment, risk and cost
• Constructability reviews that cut cost and schedule
• Selection and management of subcontractors and alliance partners
• Senior client relationships and development of your site leadership team

What You Bring

• Direct combined cycle or simple cycle construction delivery with a self-perform EPC contractor
• Site Manager on at least two major projects valued above $200M, taken from start to completion
• Operations oversight of more than one project at a time
• A record of delivering gross margin on direct-hire craft projects
• 10 to 20 years of construction operations experience, with a stable career history
• A bachelor's degree in engineering or construction, or equivalent experience
• OSHA 10
• A background that started in the trades is a strong plus
