Job summary

Movement Search & Delivery is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead and optimize production planning, scheduling, and lean initiatives across aerospace manufacturing environments. You will drive ERP-driven workflows, coordinate with engineering and program management, and push for cost-efficient, on-time delivery of manufactured parts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Business, Engineering, or related field.
• Six Sigma or Lean experience is essential.
• 10+ years in a management role with shop floor operations, product flow, and data analytics.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain operations business plans including program requirements, labor needs, cycle times and production costs.
• Forecast monthly production sales and identify risks and opportunities to meet the annual plan.
• Ensure on-time OEM production deliveries by executing ERP schedules for manufactured jobs.
• Promote continuous improvement and lean mindset on the production floor through Kaizens and lean events.
• Collaborate with Engineering to transition products to full-rate production with manufacturing design considerations.
• Coordinate with Program Management and Directors to align customer demands with production capacity and recovery plans.
• Define responsibilities for organizational staff to achieve business objectives.
• Understand site product lines and processes required to manufacture them.

Job description

• Develops and maintains operations business plans to include all program requirements, labor requirements, cycle times & production costs, and infrastructure.
• Develops monthly production sales forecast, identifying all risks and opportunities, to achieve meeting the Annual Plan.
• Ensures all OEM production deliveries are met through the on-time execution of the ERP schedule for manufactured jobs.
• Drives a continuous improvement/lean mindset throughout the production floor, participating in lean events, Kaizens, etc.
• Ability to assimilate ERP data, develop predictive trends, and provide guidance to internal/external customers as to “as demonstrated” production, future rate loads, and capacity planning.
• Major data contributor to the monthly Sales, Inventory, & Operational Planning (SIOP) process.
• Coordinates manufacturing activities with all other functions of the organization and suppliers to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
• Actively work with the machine shop, maintenance, manufacturing engineering/CNC programming team, and assembly & test to drive effective problem-solving and conflict resolutions to minimize costs and prevent operational delays.
• Works with the Engineering team to transition development products into full-rate production through the “Operations Launch” process and ensures “design for manufacturing” input is an integral part of new product development.
• Works with Program Management teams/Product Managers/Directors to help manage customer demands in all regards, from normal “on-purchase order” programs to ensuring production’s participation in recovery of “Red to Green” programs.
• Determines responsibilities of assigned organizational and staff positions to accomplish business objectives.
• Achieve and maintain a thorough understanding of site product lines and all the constituent processes required to manufacture them.
• Written process owner for operational process documents utilized in the AS9100 system
• Provide reports as necessary to the Site Leader.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or other related field
• Six Sigma or successful Lean experience
• 10+ Years working in a management position with a strong, demonstrated background in shop floor operations, product flow, & data analytics
• Thorough knowledge of CNC Machining and Assembly processes in an aerospace environment.
• Previous managerial supervisory experience.
