Job summary

Movement Search & Delivery in Sunnyside, WA is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead production planning, lean initiatives, and cross-functional collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, and PM teams.

You will own the ERP schedule, drive continuous improvement, ensure CNC machining and assembly processes meet aerospace quality standards (AS9100), and deliver on the program demands while mentoring staff and translating design into manufacturable workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.
• Six Sigma or Lean experience.
• 10+ years in a management role with shop floor ops, data analytics.
• Thorough knowledge of CNC Machining and Assembly processes in an aerospace environment.
• Previous managerial supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains operations business plans covering program requirements, labor, cycle times, costs, and infrastructure.
• Develops monthly production sales forecast to meet annual plan and identify risks and opportunities.
• Ensures OEM deliveries are met through on-time ERP scheduling for manufactured jobs.
• Drives lean mindset and participates in Kaizens and continuous improvement on the shop floor.
• Assimilates ERP data, develops predictive trends, and guides internal/external customers on production and capacity.
• Contributes to the monthly Sales, Inventory, & Operational Planning (SIOP) process.
• Coordinates manufacturing activities with other functions and suppliers for optimum utilization.
• Collaborates with machine shop, maintenance, manufacturing engineering/CNC programming, and assembly for problem solving to minimize costs.
• Works with Engineering to transition products to full-rate production via Operations Launch and DFx input.
• Collaborates with Program Management to manage customer demands from PO programs to recovery of Red to Green programs.
• Determines responsibilities of assigned positions to meet business objectives.
• Maintains thorough understanding of site product lines and processes.
• Author of AS9100 process documents used on site.
• Provides reports to Site Leader as needed.

Job description

• Develops and maintains operations business plans to include all program requirements, labor requirements, cycle times & production costs, and infrastructure.
• Develops monthly production sales forecast, identifying all risks and opportunities, to achieve meeting the Annual Plan.
• Ensures all OEM production deliveries are met through the on-time execution of the ERP schedule for manufactured jobs.
• Drives a continuous improvement/lean mindset throughout the production floor, participating in lean events, Kaizens, etc.
• Ability to assimilate ERP data, develop predictive trends, and provide guidance to internal/external customers as to "as demonstrated" production, future rate loads, and capacity planning.
• Major data contributor to the monthly Sales, Inventory, & Operational Planning (SIOP) process.
• Coordinates manufacturing activities with all other functions of the organization and suppliers to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
• Actively work with the machine shop, maintenance, manufacturing engineering/CNC programming team, and assembly & test to drive effective problem-solving and conflict resolutions to minimize costs and prevent operational delays.
• Works with the Engineering team to transition development products into full-rate production through the "Operations Launch" process and ensures "design for manufacturing" input is an integral part of new product development.
• Works with Program Management teams/Product Managers/Directors to help manage customer demands in all regards, from normal "on-purchase order" programs to ensuring production's participation in recovery of "Red to Green" programs.
• Determines responsibilities of assigned organizational and staff positions to accomplish business objectives.
• Achieve and maintain a thorough understanding of site product lines and all the constituent processes required to manufacture them.
• Written process owner for operational process documents utilized in the AS9100 system
• Provide reports as necessary to the Site Leader.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or other related field
• Six Sigma or successful Lean experience
• 10+ Years working in a management position with a strong, demonstrated background in shop floor operations, product flow, & data analytics
• Thorough knowledge of CNC Machining and Assembly processes in an aerospace environment.
• Previous managerial supervisory experience.
