Metric DCX in New Jersey seeks an Operations Manager for our Clean Energy division. The role encompasses project delivery, operations, estimating, client management and team leadership across a growing portfolio of electrical construction projects.

You will oversee pre-construction through field execution, with responsibility for financial performance and risk management in a fast-paced, union environment.

Responsibilities

Operations Manager – Clean Energy | South Plainfield, NJ

Partnered with a leading electrical contractor, seeking a Operations Manager to take ownership of its growing Clean Energy division across New Jersey.

This is a division-level leadership position for an experienced electrical construction professional who can operate across project delivery, operations, commercial performance, estimating, client management and team leadership.

You’ll oversee a portfolio of complex clean energy projects and provide leadership from pre-construction and estimating through field execution, closeout and client delivery.

What you’ll be responsible for:

• Lead and oversee multiple concurrent Clean Energy projects
• Manage and mentor Project Managers, Engineers and Field Leadership
• Own division-level financial performance, forecasting and cost control
• Review CPM schedules and provide guidance on sequencing, recovery and risk
• Support estimating, bid reviews, technical proposals and value engineering
• Lead change order, claims and contract management
• Oversee subcontractor negotiations, onboarding and performance
• Develop and maintain senior-level client relationships

• Support engineering teams to deliver projects on schedule and budget

What we’re looking for - 15+ years of Project Management experience within electrical construction, with proven progression into senior operational leadership.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

• 3–5+ years of Operations / senior management experience
• Extensive electrical installation and construction management expertise
• Experience managing large, complex commercial or industrial projects
• Strong experience within a union electrical environment – essential
• Experience with GIS, EHV, BESS or other clean energy infrastructure
• Strong estimating experience; McCormick knowledge is a plus
• Strong commercial, contractual and financial understanding
• Experience managing Project Managers, Engineers and Field Leadership
• Strong knowledge of construction planning, scheduling and project controls
• Proficiency with Procore and Microsoft Office
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, construction or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
• OSHA-30 is a plus
