Job description

Position Summary

The Electrical Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing electrical operations and project execution while leading a team of Project Managers and Field Supervisors. This role drives operational excellence through strong leadership, customer engagement, financial oversight, and team development. The ideal candidate is a strategic problem-solver who ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a senior client representative, upholding the company’s brand, reputation, and commitment to excellence
  • Lead and support Project Managers and Field Supervisors to ensure successful coordination with customers, trade partners, and suppliers
  • Oversee project schedules, budgets, quality standards, shop drawings, and material deliveries
  • Monitor project performance and job costs; ensure accurate billing, invoice approvals, and financial reporting
  • Actively participate in monthly Contract Status Review meetings
  • Review and interpret drawings, specifications, contracts, and project documentation to develop effective execution strategies
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve current or potential project obstacles to maintain schedules and performance
  • Hold teams accountable to performance expectations, quality standards, and client requirements
  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture; ensure incidents are reported per company policy
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and performance feedback to Project Managers and Field Supervisors
  • Accurately document project issues to protect company interests (claims, liens, change management, etc.)
  • Collaborate with division leadership and peers to foster a positive, high-performing team culture
  • Understand and coordinate electrical scope within the broader multifamily construction workflow
  • Support Project Managers in developing and executing sound, feasible project plans
  • Cultivate and maintain customer relationships through regular meetings, industry involvement, and professional networking
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Participate in hiring, training, and development of Project Managers and field staff
  • Organize and oversee Project Manager workloads and schedules
  • Conduct timely, constructive performance evaluations
  • Address employee discipline and terminations in accordance with company policy
Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Electrical/HVAC construction (multifamily experience strongly preferred)
  • 5+ years of Electrical/HVAC Project Management experience
  • Proven leadership experience with a track record of developing and motivating teams
  • Proficiency in project management tools, budgeting software, and Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Professional demeanor and appearance
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Preferred

  • College education in Construction Management or related field
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, ethics, and continuous improvement
