Job summary

Applied Industrial Technologies, a leading distributor in fluid power and related maintenance supplies, seeks a Branch Operations Manager in Texas. You will direct daily branch activities, coordinate with the General/Regional Manager, and drive productivity, quality, and timely product/service delivery.

  • Aids the General or Regional Manager in achieving annual revenue, profit, and staffing plans.
  • Plan, control, and manage product and service deliveries to meet customer needs.
  • Hire and maintain a productive staff and ensure career growth.
  • Assign responsibilities and manage workload under the General Manager.
  • Maintain organization, track unresolved issues, including customer complaints.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations and review P&L with GM/RM and Finance.
  • Promote ISO Quality/Environmental Management and 5S; suggest improvements.
  • Perform analytical functions to resolve opportunities and deliver timely results.

Position Summary

Essential Functions
  • Aids the General or Regional Manager in achieving annual revenue, profit, and staffing plans.
  • Responsible for successfully planning, controlling, and managing product and service deliveries to ensure that customer needs are met.
  • Hires and maintain a productive staff. Ensure employees are trained and prepared for career growth.
  • Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities under the direction of the General Manager.
  • Maintains a high level of organization, tracking unresolved issues, including customer complaints, and brings them to resolution.
  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of the business ensuring operations in accordance with company policies and procedures to include review of P&L with GM/RM and Finance department.
  • Promotes adherence to ISO Quality and Environmental Management and 5S policies and procedures. Recommend improvements to these systems.
  • Perform analytical functions, assessing situations quickly to determine the most beneficial resolution to opportunities while maintaining focus and delivering results within agreed-upon time frame.

  • Fluid Power product knowledge with emphasis on Parker products.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills, remain task-focused, and manage his/her time to meet predetermined deadlines.

  • Demonstrated analytical skills from past projects and assignments.
  • Ability to grasp and understand business concepts and issues.

Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree (four-year college or university) or equivalent industry experience
Experience
  • A minimum of three years’ related experience in fluid power or industrial distribution.
Skills Taught After Hire As Needed
  • Product Training, Management Skills, ISO Training, Microsoft Office Training, Safety Training, Payroll and Attendance and Performance Management software, P21, CRM and Lean principles.
Certificates & Licenses
  • Certified Fluid Power Specialist certificate is desired but not required.
Other Requirements
  • Valid Driver’s License, Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record
Other Physical Requirements
  • Able to travel by car within several hundred miles of their branch and overnight occasionally; some air travel expected.
Work Environment
  • Works in an indoor controlled and uncontrolled environment with occasional work outside.
