Job summary

Applied Industrial Technologies seeks a Branch Operations Manager in Georgia to lead daily branch activities and support the General Manager. You will drive productivity, ensure quality, and oversee delivery of products and services to customers with a focus on efficiency and compliance.

The role requires 3+ years in fluid power/industrial distribution, strong leadership, and solid analytical skills. Travel within the region is expected as part of responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in fluid power or industrial distribution.
  • Experience leading a team and managing branch operations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Direct daily activities of branch operations and assist GM with duties.
  • Recommend improvements to productivity, quality, and delivery.
  • Lead and direct work, determine workflow and scheduling.
  • Address customer and employee issues promptly and professionally.
  • Plan, control, and manage product and service deliveries to meet needs.
  • Hire and maintain a productive staff and ensure training for growth.
  • Monitor P&L with GM and Finance, review for accuracy.
  • Promote ISO Quality/Environmental/5S adherence and improvements.
  • Perform analyses to resolve opportunities and deliver results on time.

Job description

Position Summary

Manages and directs the daily activities of branch operations and assists the General Manager with duties and responsibilities. Make recommendations to improve productivity, quality, and efficient delivery of products and services; maintain compliance with company policies and procedures and implement plans to accomplish goals. Leads and directs the work of others and determines workflow and scheduling. Sorts out problems and priorities and is proactive with problem solving for both customers and employees. Ensure that all customers are assisted in a professional and responsive manner and customer needs or issues are handled appropriately.

Essential Functions
  • Provides assistance to General Manager on achieving annual revenue, profit and staffing plans.
  • Responsible for successfully planning, controlling and managing product and service deliveries to ensure that customer needs are met.
  • Hire and maintain a productive staff. Ensure employees are properly trained and prepared for career growth.
  • Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities under the direction of General Manager.
  • Maintains a high level of organization, tracking unresolved issues including customer complaints, and bringing them to resolution.
  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of the business ensuring operations in accordance with company policies and procedures to include review of P&L with GM and Finance department.
  • Promotes adherence to ISO Quality and Environmental Management and 5S policies and procedures. Recommend improvements to these systems.
  • Perform analytical functions assessing situations quickly to determine the most beneficial resolution to opportunities while maintaining focus and delivering results within agreed upon time frames.
Position Qualifications- Skills and Abilities

Experience should demonstrate proficiencies in the following areas:

  • Fluid Power product knowledge with emphasis on Parker products.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills, remain task focused and manage his/her time to meet predetermined deadlines.
  • High level of integrity.
  • Ability to properly convey ideas or concepts.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills from past projects and assignments.
  • Ability to grasp and understand business concepts and issues.
  • Proper listening, oral and written skills and command of the English language.
  • Understand the need and have the ability to make critical decisions while following company procedures.
  • Possesses a high degree of organization.
  • Demonstrate ability to remain task focused and manages his/her time to meet predetermined deadlines.
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent industry experience.
Experience
  • A minimum of three years' related experience in fluid power or industrial distribution.
Skills taught after hire as needed
  • Product Training, Management Skills, ISO Training, Microsoft Office Training, Safety Training, P21, CRM and Lean principles.
Certificates & Licenses
  • Certified Fluid Power Specialist certificate preferred but not required.
Other Requirements
  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record
  • Able to travel by car within several hundred miles of their branch and overnight occasionally; some air travel expected.
  • Works in an indoor controlled and uncontrolled environment with occasional work outside.
