The Operations Manager will be responsible for leading and managing all warehouse operations, including receiving, inventory movement, order fulfillment, picking, packing, shipping, and overall warehouse efficiency. This is a hands‑on leadership position requiring a strong player‑coach mentality—the successful candidate must be willing to supervise, engage, coach and counsel doing what is necessary to ensure operational objectives are achieved.
The Operations Manager will also play a critical role in building and developing the warehouse team, including interviewing, hiring, training, coaching, performance management, and workforce planning.
A key component of this position is the ability to implement, launch, train employees on, and effectively utilize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Transportation Management Systems (TMS). The ideal candidate has successfully implemented or launched these systems in a prior organization and understands how to use technology to improve warehouse accuracy, productivity, inventory control, and transportation efficiency.
The Operations Manager must also have prior experience opening, relocating, or launching a warehouse facility, including the ability to develop processes, coordinate resources, establish workflows, train employees, and successfully transition operations with minimal disruption.
This position will have responsibility for supporting and managing operations across multiple locations, including the company’s West Coast warehouse, and requires a willingness and ability to travel as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Warehouse Operations
- oLead all daily warehouse operations, including:
- o Receiving
- o Put‑away and inventory movement
- o Order picking and fulfillment
- o Packing
- o Shipping
- o Loading and unloading
- o Inventory control
- o Warehouse organization and housekeeping
- o Establish and maintain efficient warehouse processes and workflows.
- o Ensure orders are processed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.
- o Monitor warehouse productivity, accuracy, service levels, and operating costs.
- o Identify operational bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
- o Maintain a safe, organized, and productive work environment.
- o Implement safety stations and program
- o Develop and enforce standard operating procedures and operational best
- practices.
- o Lead the implementation and ongoing utilization of WMS and TMS platforms.
- o Participate in system launches, configuration, testing, implementation, and

Warehouse Opening & Relocation:
- o Lead or support the opening of new warehouse facilities.
- o Manage warehouse relocations and operational transitions.
- o Develop facility layouts, workflows, processes, and operating procedures.
- o Coordinate equipment, inventory, staffing, systems, transportation, and other
- resources required for successful launches.
- o Establish WMS/TMS processes and ensure employees are trained before
- operational go‑live.
- o Minimize disruption to customers and business operations during facility
- transitions.
- o Ensure new facilities reach expected productivity and service levels quickly.
Multi‑Location & West Coast Operations
- o Provide operational leadership and support for the company’s West Coast
- warehouse.
- o Travel to the West Coast warehouse and other facilities as required.
- o Ensure consistent operating standards, processes, and performance
- expectations across locations.
- o Support local management and warehouse teams with training, problem‑solving,
- process improvement, and operational execution.
- o Identify opportunities to standardize best practices across facilities.
Required Qualifications
- o Significant experience managing warehouse or distribution center operations.
- o Demonstrated leadership experience managing receiving, shipping, fulfillment,
- and inventory operations.
- o Proven experience interviewing, hiring, training, coaching, and developing
- warehouse employees.
- Strong experience with both WMS and TMS systems, including:
- o System implementation or launch
- o Employee training
- o Troubleshooting and continuous improvement
- o Demonstrated experience opening, relocating, or launching a warehouse
- facility.
- o Strong understanding of warehouse processes, inventory control, transportation,
- and order fulfillment.
- o Proven ability to lead from the floor and operate effectively as a hands‑on
- player‑coach.
