Job summary

Quikrete Holdings Inc. seeks an Operations Manager for the Portable Plants Division in the Savannah area to oversee ready-mix production and delivery operations across plant locations, including staffing, maintenance, safety, quality, and budgeting.

This role partners with dispatch, sales, and customers to ensure reliable service, lead a portable plants team, and drive continuous improvement while maintaining high safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of supervision in ready-mix or construction materials operations.
• Strong knowledge of concrete production, batching, and delivery.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Working knowledge of relevant safety and environmental regulations.
• Proficiency with operational software (batching systems, dispatch platforms, MS Office).

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily ready-mix operations across one or multiple plant locations.
• Ensure efficient production and delivery of concrete to meet customer demands and schedules.
• Manage plant maintenance schedules and ensure equipment reliability and functionality.
• Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and coordinate procurement with supplies.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate plant personnel (operators, batchers, drivers, maintenance staff).
• Promote safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Schedule staff and manage workloads to optimize labor efficiency.
• Maintain high product quality and resolve customer complaints.
• Enforce safety procedures and conduct regular safety meetings and inspections.
• Collaborate with dispatchers, sales teams, and customers for timely deliveries.
• Manage operational budgets, control costs, and analyze performance metrics.

Job description

We are looking for an Operations Manager to join Quikrete Heavy Construction Materials and oversee our Portable Plants Division, with travel in and around the Savannah area. This individual will lead the portable plants team and manage daily ready-mix production and delivery operations, including staffing, employee supervision, equipment maintenance, safety compliance, quality control, and budgeting. The Operations Manager will work closely with dispatch, sales, and customers to keep operations running efficiently and ensure reliable service across portable plant locations.

About the Role

• Operational Management:
  • Oversee daily ready-mix operations across one or multiple plant locations

• Financial & Reporting:
  • Manage operational budgets, control costs, and seek efficiencies.
  • Analyze performance metrics and prepare reports on plant performance, safety, and productivity.

About You

We Require:

• Proven experience in ready mix or construction materials operations, preferably in a supervisory or management role. 5+ years preferred.
• Strong knowledge of concrete production, batching, and delivery processes.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Working knowledge of relevant safety and environmental regulations.
• Proficiency with operational software (e.g., batching systems, dispatching platforms, MS Office).
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, business, engineering, or equivalent experience preferred.
