Job summary

Machota Solutions is seeking an experienced Production Manager / Operations Leader for its Michigan cannabis manufacturing and packaging operations. The role requires more than supervision: lead teams, optimize processes, uphold quality standards, and drive efficiency in a tightly regulated environment.

The ideal candidate has a track record of managing multiple production teams, implementing continuous improvement programs, and maintaining strict regulatory compliance with METRC and state

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily manufacturing, processing, and packaging operations across multiple production teams.
• Lead scheduling, labor allocation, employee development, performance, and accountability.
• Develop and maintain SOPs; conduct process audits; implement corrective actions; ensure product quality.
• Maintain compliance with Michigan cannabis regulations, METRC, inventory tracking, and production documentation.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma to reduce waste and increase productivity.
• Monitor KPIs, identify bottlenecks, maintain production standards, and ensure equipment readiness.

I'm partnering with an established cannabis operator and vertically integrated looking to strengthen its manufacturing and production leadership. Looking for someone who brings more than just production supervision. The ideal candidate understands how to lead people, improve processes, maintain quality standards, and create efficiencies within a regulated manufacturing environment.

Key areas of responsibility:

• Operations Management: Oversee daily manufacturing, processing, and packaging operations across multiple production teams.
• Team Leadership: Manage scheduling, labor allocation, employee development, performance, and accountability.
• Quality Assurance: Develop and maintain SOPs, conduct process audits, implement corrective actions, and ensure consistent product quality.
• Regulatory Compliance: Maintain compliance with Michigan cannabis regulations, METRC, inventory tracking, and production documentation.
• Continuous Improvement: Apply Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma, or similar principles to reduce waste, improve workflow, and increase productivity.
• Production Performance: Monitor KPIs, identify bottlenecks, maintain production standards, and support equipment and facility readiness.

What would make someone a strong fit?

• Previous leadership experience within cannabis manufacturing, processing, packaging, or post-harvest operations.
• Experience managing multiple production teams or departments.
