Job summary

United Petroleum Transports Inc is seeking an Operations Manager to assist the CSC Manager, supervise drivers and technicians, and promote safety and efficiency in daily operations. You will coordinate loads, review staffing, train associates, and ensure timely deliveries while maintaining strong internal and external communication.

The role requires knowledge of DOT regulations, ability to manage multiple priorities, and a proactive, detail-oriented approach to improve overall unit utilization.

Qualifications

  • High School education or equivalent.
  • One year experience as a fleet manager in transportation industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Promote safety first in all actions.
  • Assist in the hiring and training of operations associates including Right Way Training, Driver Tablet training, and CSR process training.
  • Provide direction and guidance to all operations associates, drivers and technicians.
  • Manage processes and corresponding systems.
  • Review and make changes as needed to maintain the most efficient staffing of company units to achieve the highest utilization as possible.
  • Prioritize loads for timely delivery.
  • Work with fleet managers to assign loads to drivers in a fair and equitable manner.
  • Provide efficient friendly customer contact.
  • Control and complete paperwork and reports as required.
  • Maintain knowledge of DOT regulations.

The Operations Manager will be responsible for assisting the CSC Manager as well as carrying out direction and responsibilities to all operation associates,drivers and technicians.A Day in the life of an Operations Manager:Promote safety first in all actionsAssist in the hiring and training of operations associates including Right Way Training, Driver Tablet training, and CSR process trainingProvide direction and guidance to all operations associates, drivers and techniciansManage processes and corresponding systemsReview and make changes as needed to maintain the most efficient staffing of company units to achieve the highest utilization as possiblePrioritize loads for timely deliveryWork with fleet managers to assign loads to drivers in a fair and equitable mannerProvide efficient friendly customer contactControl and complete paperwork and reports as requiredManage Fleet manager schedules and desk assignmentsCommunicate with all operations associates and drivers regarding company and customer requirementsContinually update knowledge of federal and state regulationsCommunicate with internal and external customers as requiredAdditional Responsibilities:Carries out duties assigned by center manager or regional manager as requiredWork with and support the business development managers to grow the businessResponsible for overall CSC operations during the absence of the center managerHigh School Education or equivalentOne year experience as a fleet manager in transportation industryKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Excellent verbal and written communication skillsKnowledge of DOT regulations, federal and state standardsAbility to prioritize and manage multiple projectsSelf-starter with detail oriented work habitsAble to maintain confidentialityDisplay professional demeanorGood interpersonal skills; able to work well with wide range of individualsDemonstrate dependability through good attendance and adherence to timelines and schedulesBasic computer skills, strong desktop and administrative skillsKnowledge of basic company employment policies and proceduresPhysical Requirements:Sitting for long periods of time, walking, finger dexterity, feeling, repetitive motions, and talking, hearing and visual activity.Occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds).Working Conditions:Normal office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and copier/printer/scanners.
