Job summary

The Florida Department of Health seeks an Operations & Mgmt Consultant Manager in Tallahassee to supervise the administrative team, oversee procurement and budget planning, and report to the Chief of Medical and Health Services within the Office of Information Technology.

This professional role emphasizes leadership, policy compliance, and cross‑program coordination, including performance management, staff training, and ensuring timely delivery of initiatives.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of professional State of Florida purchasing experience.
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines, with strong organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervisory responsibilities: communicate with, motivate, train, and evaluate employees; plan and direct work; hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, promote, discharge, assign or discipline staff; develop performance expectations; conduct performance reviews; manage vacation and work schedules; ensure coverage and timesheets.
• Technology procurements: ensure PO's, subscriptions, renewals, cost estimates, and scopes of work are complete and compliant; sign, route, or process payments; conduct invoice reviews and reconciliations; track expenditures and postings.
• Budget: monitor operating budget; develop estimates, forecasts, spend plans, and funding recommendations; monitor allocations and expenditures.
• Security and confidentiality: maintain information security per laws and departmental policies.
• Other duties as assigned.
