Job summary

Great Southern Wood Preserving, Inc. is seeking an Operations Management Intern for its 2027 Summer Internship Program. This role offers hands-on exposure to production flow, scheduling, inventory accountability, treating operations, and quality control across departments.

You'll work with supervisors and teams to identify efficiency trends, develop leadership skills, and apply company policies and safety rules. The program includes college credit opportunities and competitive pay.

Qualifications

• Sophomore or higher pursuing BS/MS in a related field.
• Cumulative GPA 2.50 or greater.

Job description

Great Southern Wood Preserving, Inc., makers of YellaWood brand pressure-treated pine, is seeking an Operations Management Intern for the 2027 Summer Internship Program. This program is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience the lumber industry and workforce like never before.

Responsibilities May Include

• Work alongside supervisors and employees in various departments to understand daily production operations including production flow, scheduling, inventory accountability, treating operations, grading lumber, quality and more.
• Identify trends and make recommendations for improving plant processes and operations
• Develop management skills while leading and motivating others
• Understand and apply company policies, programs, regulations, and safety rules to support safety, quality, and production
• Complete projects as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least a Sophomore and actively seeking a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Operations, Management, Business, Engineering, or related field, and a cumulative GPA of 2.50 or greater.
• Must have experience with PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Microsoft Teams, and Outlook.
