We are seeking an Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Technician to contribute to the safe, efficient, and reliable operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of power generation equipment at Conduit Power’s field facilities. This hybrid role requires a strong technical background, hands‑on experience with power generation systems, and a commitment to ensuring continuous and reliable infrastructure operation. The technician will split duties equally between field operations and equipment maintenance.
You Will:
- Operate, inspect, and monitor power plant equipment, including reciprocating engines/generators, natural gas fuel systems, transformers, and electrical equipment.
- Serve as the site point of contact for coordinating onsite work.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues efficiently to maintain performance metrics.
- Ensure proper use of basic tools, ladders, and safety harnesses.
- Operate company vehicles safely and maintain a clean driving record.
- Maintain orderly and tidy equipment, tools, and workspaces.
- Work independently or as part of a team for extended periods.
- Participate in on‑call rotation for incident response.
- Perform routine maintenance (oil changes, spark plug changes, tuning, overheads) on power generation equipment, including natural gas reciprocating engines, transformers, reclosers, switchgear, batteries, natural gas regulators, and PLC controllers.
- Complete Job Hazard Analysis and determine appropriate PPE for assigned tasks.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, test results, work performed, and parts used (computer‑based or hard copy).
- Review data and trends to troubleshoot and recommend solutions to equipment issues.
- Assist with incident response and investigations as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards and complete assigned trainings (including OEM training) on time.
- Maintain necessary certifications to perform maintenance duties and mitigate safety/operational risk.
What you bring to the Team:
- Technical certification or degree in a related field preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in power generation or oil & gas industry required.
- Experience with MTU, Jenbacher, CAT, or portable/fixed generators >1MW/2MW a plus.
- Willingness to work in extreme temperatures, wind, precipitation, and at heights required.
- Ability to work rotational schedules, long/irregular hours, and holidays required.
- Clean driving record and valid driver’s license required.
- Able to lift 50 pounds required.
