Responsibilities

  • Observe and report condition of WHS facilities to ensure health and safety of clients and staff.
  • Perform janitorial tasks (sweeping, mopping, trash, bathrooms) and basic landscaping as needed.
  • Conduct laundry services (wash, dry, fold) and manage supplies.
  • Attend required meetings and trainings; participate in contracts and licensing compliance.
  • Identify safety hazards and report to Operations, Maintenance and Facilities Director immediately.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Constant and continuous observation and reporting, at regular intervals or as scheduled, of appearance and condition of WHS facilities internal and external and the condition of premises required to ensure client and staff health, safety, and wellbeing.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
  • Attending all required meetings.
  • Function as a mandated reporter, as required by Michigan Child Protection Law.
  • Participate/attend and complete all required contractual, licensing and agency training successfully.
  • Support the planning and implementation of tasks required specific to WHS special events.
  • Perform inventory tasks in accordance with defined WHS warehouse policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment for staff and clients of the facility. Janitorial work to include sweeping and mopping of tiled floors, vacuuming carpeted areas, empty trash receptacles, clean and sanitize bathrooms, and break rooms, restock paper products throughout the facility, clean windows, disinfect doors, general dusting, request cleaning supplies to be ordered, strip and wax floors, occasionally shovel snow from sidewalks and entry ways, apply deicer and other related duties including , lifting up 50 lbs. occasionally, and seasonal landscaping.
  • Performance of laundry services: wash, dry, and fold client clothing and linens; communicate equipment repair and maintenance needs; monitor laundry supplies inventory.
  • Report the need for facility or equipment repairs, replacement, safety hazards or conditions requiring attention to the Operations, Maintenance and Facilities Director immediately.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. required. Associates or Trade School degree preferred.
  • Broad knowledge, awareness and experience in general areas related to operations, facilities maintenance and repair, grounds keeping, landscaping, industrial janitorial, housekeeping and laundry.
  • Deep knowledge and expertise in at least two areas: operations, facilities maintenance and repair, grounds keeping, landscaping, inventory, warehouse, janitorial, housekeeping, laundry, commercial planning, real estate, fire, safety, and security.
  • Knowledge and awareness of OSHA standards and typical occupational hazards and a commitment to comply with safety rules, processes, and procedures.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in WHS technology platforms and applications – e.g. Paycor, SharePoint, Microsoft.
  • Working knowledge of WHS policies and procedures.
  • Valid Michigan drivers and chauffeur’s license or ability to obtain chauffeur’s license.
