You will troubleshoot issues, coordinate vendors, support AV and meeting tech, assist with system maintenance, and deliver high-touch service to staff across the organization, five days a week in-office.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent practical experience required.
  • 1–4 years’ experience in facilities operations, IT support, or a related field.
  • Hands-on familiarity with hand tools and a foundational understanding of building systems (electrical, mechanical, infrastructure) required.
  • 1–4 years of end-user IT support experience, troubleshooting workstations, basic network connectivity, and common business apps (e.g., Microsoft 365).

Job description

The Facilities & Technology Associate is a hands-on, service-oriented role responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Foundation’s facilities and technology systems.This position plays a critical role in maintaining a safe, efficient, and well-functioning workplace by providing frontline support for facilities operations, technology services and workplace safety.

Reporting to the Director of Facilities & Information Technology, the Facilities & Technology Associate troubleshoots operational and technical issues, coordinates vendors and service providers, supports audio/visual and meeting technologies, assists with system maintenance, and delivers responsive end-user technology support across the organization.

This collaborative role requires attention to detail, responsiveness, and the ability to balance facilities and technical support, while delivering high touch, “white glove” service that enhances the employee experience.

The Facilities & Technology Associate is a full-time position based in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, with expected in-office presence five days per week.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to;

Facilities Operations
  • Support daily facilities operations to ensure a clean, safe, and functional workplace environment.
  • Conduct routine inspections of building systems, common areas, and equipment; identify and help resolve maintenance issues.
  • Perform minor repairs and coordinate service requests with external vendors and building management.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance activities and tracking of building systems.
  • Support inventory management for facilities supplies, tools, and equipment; maintain organized storage areas.
  • Assist with monitoring building systems (e.g., electrical, mechanical, water, and safety systems) and report irregularities.
  • Support workplace readiness, including meeting space setup, furniture moves, and general office upkeep.
  • Participate in facilities-related projects, including improvements, repairs, and seasonal needs.
  • Assist with grounds coordination and general upkeep of the property in partnership with external vendors.
  • Provide first-level technical support to staff, troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • Support workstation setup, deployment, and maintenance (laptops, monitors, docking stations, mobile devices, printers).
  • Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding, including account provisioning and equipment preparation.
  • Maintain technology inventory and asset tracking.
  • Support conference room and event technology, including AV setup, testing, and live meeting support.
  • Assist with software installation, updates, and basic system configuration.
  • Troubleshoot basic network and connectivity issues; escalate complex issues as appropriate.
Operational Systems & Administration
  • Assist with administration and maintenance of systems including Microsoft 365, Zoom, Salesforce, and other workplace tools.
  • Support user access, permissions, and license tracking.
  • Assist with system monitoring and routine checks to ensure performance and security standards are met.
  • Assist with the maintenance of accurate documentation of processes, systems, and procedures.
  • Support data tracking, reporting metrics, and operational dashboards as needed.
Safety & Security
  • Support workplace safety initiatives, including emergency preparedness, drills, and compliance activities.
  • Assist in maintaining safety materials, signage, and documentation.
  • Support physical security systems, including access control and badge administration.
  • Participate in safety inspections and incident follow-up.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS
  • Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent practical experience required.
  • 1–4 years’ experience in facilities operations, IT support, or a related field required.
  • Hands-on familiarity with hand tools and a foundational understanding of building systems such as electrical, mechanical, and infrastructure components required.
  • 1–4 years of experience providing end-user IT support, with demonstrated ability to troubleshoot workstations, manage basic network connectivity, and support common business applications (e.g., Microsoft 365).
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across both physical and technical environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Occasionally need to work outside standard business hours to support maintenance, projects, and events.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience supporting end users with Microsoft 365, Windows environments, and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom.
  • Experience with endpoint/device setup, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM systems.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts.
  • Experience coordinating vendors and service providers.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety practices and compliance requirements.
  • Experience supporting AV and conference room technology.
  • Experience with inventory or asset management systems.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to lift and move equipment and supplies up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to perform various hands-on physical tasks such as snow removal, assembly and moving furniture, etc.
  • Ability to walk through the office facilities and property regularly and throughout the workday.
