Job summary

AAA Cooper Transportation is seeking a Full-Time Operations Manager for our Kansas City service center to oversee daily freight flow and staff performance.

You will lead a team, plan manpower, coordinate with dispatch, and ensure compliant, safe operations while driving efficiency and customer satisfaction. This role offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities within a growing company.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 5 years supervisory experience in the LTL industry.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge of LTL, DOT rules, OSHA laws, hazardous materials, NMFC and tariffs preferred.
• Able to work in a remote location with initiative.
• Multi-task oriented with good organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Internet.

Responsibilities

• Lead, educate and develop new employees.
• Plan daily manpower needs to ensure timely, damage-free delivery and pickup.
• Coordinate movement of trailers and freight with dispatch and dock staff.
• Monitor dock loading techniques for safety and efficiency.
• Evaluate and reconfigure routes based on local tendencies.
• Conduct safety meetings and facilitate quality groups.
• Analyze performance data for improvements and reviews.
• Assist Operation Supervisors and conduct pre-shift meetings.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.
