Job summary

MPI seeks a Director of Operations to lead light industrial construction projects in the Atlanta market. You will shape strategy, drive operational excellence, mentor teams, and influence long-term growth for a growing portfolio.

You will oversee PMs, Superintendents, and staff, focusing on safety, quality, schedule, profitability, and client satisfaction while building scalable processes and partnering with BD/preconstruction to support growth.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Director of Operations or similar in a commercial construction GC.
• Proven experience leading large-scale light industrial projects for clients like Amazon.
• Experience overseeing project and operations teams.
• Strong ability to develop and implement operational processes and metrics.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the operational execution of light industrial projects across the organization.
• Oversee Project Managers, Superintendents, and staff to ensure delivery.
• Drive safety, quality, schedule, profitability, and client satisfaction metrics.
• Develop and implement operational strategies, systems, and best practices.
• Monitor financial performance, forecasting, budgeting, and risk management.
• Establish and maintain operational metrics to improve efficiency.
• Provide executive oversight of planning, procurement, staffing, and resources.
• Partner with business development and preconstruction to support growth.
• Build strong relationships with clients, developers, subs, and partners.
• Mentor construction leadership teams to strengthen capabilities.
• Lead operational reviews and executive reporting.
• Ensure compliance with company standards and safety expectations.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and scalability.
