Job summary

MPI is seeking a Director of Operations to lead large-scale commercial and industrial construction projects across multiple regions. The role oversees field operations and office functions to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery with top-quality results.

The ideal candidate has extensive leadership in construction, a track record managing multi-project portfolios, and strong financial acumen. Expect significant travel and a focus on safety, quality, and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree as stated in requirements.
• 15+ years progressive construction leadership experience.
• 7+ years in a senior operations leadership role.
• Proven success managing multiple concurrent projects valued from $50M to $500M+.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership for multiple large-scale commercial and industrial construction projects.
• Establish and implement operational strategies that support growth and profitability.
• Lead field operations and office functions aligning with business objectives.
• Develop processes, procedures, and metrics to drive efficiency and consistency.
• Foster accountability, collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement.
• Mentor Project Executives, Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, and Superintendents.
• Maintain executive oversight of schedules, budgets, procurement, manpower, and risk.
• Conduct project reviews evaluating performance, finances, quality, and client satisfaction.
• Plan and execute across all construction phases with proactive issue resolution.
• Support startup, execution planning, and resource allocation for projects.
• Monitor profitability, forecast, cost control, and financial reporting.
• Review financial performance and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to improve margins and returns.
• Ensure budget adherence and optimal resource use.
• Lead safety excellence, comply with OSHA and safety programs.
• Conduct operational audits and site visits for safety and quality.
• Implement quality control initiatives for superior outcomes.
• Develop and maintain relationships with owners, developers, and subcontractors.
• Represent the company in client meetings and project reviews.
• Support initiatives that boost client satisfaction and repeat business.
• Collaborate with preconstruction and estimating teams during planning.
• Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing leaders.
• Establish succession planning and leadership development programs.
• Conduct performance evaluations and coaching.
• Build a leadership pipeline for future growth.
