Job summary

MPI seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead major commercial and civic construction projects in Charlotte. You will oversee project teams, mentor staff, and drive budgeting, scheduling, risk management and client relations to ensure profitable outcomes.

The role offers a clear leadership path, with potential progression to Director of Operations as the Charlotte operation scales and new work is secured.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager or Project Executive in commercial construction.
  • Strong track record managing ground-up and renovation projects.
  • Experience overseeing project financials, schedules, subcontractors, and client relationships.
  • Ability to lead teams, mentor junior staff, and balance execution with business goals.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead execution of commercial, civic, institutional, and private projects from preconstruction to closeout.
  • Manage project teams including PMs, superintendents, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Mentor and develop growing project management staff.
  • Drive planning, budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and financial performance.
  • Build relationships with owners, architects, engineers, and industry partners.
  • Support business development through networking and community involvement.
  • Collaborate with preconstruction and operations to pursue new work.
  • Establish processes and best practices to support market growth.
  • Serve as leadership partner in scaling the Charlotte-area operation.
  • Transition to broader operations leadership with potential Director of Operations.
