Job summary

At Home is seeking an Assistant Store Manager – Operations to support the Store Manager in leading a large-format retail store. You will drive sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction while overseeing staffing, operations, and daily workflows.

You will mentor Operations Leads and Zone Lead teams, ensure safety and compliance, and champion a positive work environment that reflects At Home's values. Strong leadership, communication, and data-driven decision making are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3+ years of leadership experience in a big-box or high-volume retail environment.
• Proven experience leading teams of 20+ and managing at least $5M in annual revenue or budget.
• Knowledge of freight processes, inventory control, stocking, and merchandising.
• Customer-focused mindset with a track record of delivering in-store excellence.
• Demonstrated integrity, reliability, and ethical business practices.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with HRIS and scheduling systems.
• Strong communication skills across verbal and written formats.
• Ability to inspire, delegate, and motivate high-performing teams.
• Proven ability to analyze data and drive business decisions.

Responsibilities

• Drive store operations to meet sales, profit, and performance goals while delivering a customer-focused experience.
• Attract, hire, and develop talent; build internal bench strength and succession plans.
• Coach and develop staff to improve performance and internal mobility.
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, and payroll accuracy aligned with financial metrics.
• Plan and oversee operations including opening/closing and front-end processes.
• Direct freight, inventory, stocking, and merchandising for in-stock conditions and visuals.
• Lead efforts in customer satisfaction, loss prevention, and cash handling.
• Address team and customer concerns with urgency and integrity.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and laws.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe environment aligned with company values.
• Lead regular team huddles and meetings.
• Perform additional duties as needed.
