Hydro Resources - Rocky Mountain is seeking an Operations Manager to lead daily drilling and pump operations in Fort Lupton, CO. You will drive scheduling, logistics, and field execution while mentoring crews and delivering high-quality results across projects.

The role emphasizes root-cause problem solving, process improvement, and strong communication with field teams and management to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive experience in water well drilling or closely related operations.
• Proven experience managing multiple crews and full drilling operations.
• Strong technical troubleshooting background with downhole issues, fishing operations, Kelly and top drive rigs.
• Exposure to pump service/installation is a significant plus.
• Solid understanding of safe operating practices and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) for tracking/reporting, plus inventory management software and logistics tools.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily drilling operations and pump department operations.
• Coordinate logistics, equipment mobilization, and resource planning for efficient project execution.
• Spot issues quickly, troubleshoot downhole problems, fishing jobs, equipment failures, and field challenges, then implement lasting process fixes.
• Identify root causes, develop clear strategies, and communicate plans to crews and supervisors to prevent recurrence.
• Keep upper management informed with timely, honest updates—no spin, no surprises.
• Seek and implement improvements, including new drilling technologies, tools, and operational efficiencies.
• Maintain high standards for organization, safety, and performance across operations.
• Set clear expectations, follow up, and coach team members while ensuring accountability.
• Collaborate with Hydro Resources - Rocky Mountain team on broader operational improvements.
• Drive discipline in scheduling, labor, and material planning while reducing reactive decision-making and drift.
• Develop and mentor junior leaders and strengthen the pump service department.
