Job summary

West Place Animal Sanctuary is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee daily operations, with emphasis on managing volunteer programs, inventories, and supply ordering. You will support the Animal Care Manager and coordinate outreach efforts.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to animal welfare. You will train volunteers, manage documentation, and help ensure the sanctuary runs smoothly and safely.

Qualifications

• Experience managing volunteer programs.
• Strong organizational and administrative skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple programs/activities.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, Internet and GSuite for non-profits.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and grow the volunteer/intern program; manage onboarding, training and scheduling.
• Maintain inventories and coordinate feed/supply/medical ordering; ensure proper documentation.
• Support the Animal Care Manager and assist in daily animal-care operations when needed.
• Oversee property/building maintenance oversight; manage volunteers to support upkeep and safety.
• Handle administrative tasks, respond to emails, manage phones and update manuals and SOPs.
• Plan and execute community outreach and events; coordinate tours and group volunteering.
