Job summary

The Nashville Humane Association seeks a seasoned nonprofit leader to oversee shelter operations, animal welfare programs, and daily staff coordination.

As a senior manager, you will guide front-line teams, volunteers, and program initiatives, ensuring humane animal care, safety compliance, and community outreach in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include developing SOPs, scheduling, performance reviews, and partnering with external organizations to advance adoptions and education.

Qualifications

• Experience managing others in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
• Strong customer service skills, two years of experience dealing with the public in a customer service setting.
• Two years animal shelter or Non-Profit Management experience.
• Valid Driver’s License

Responsibilities

• Oversee front facing day-to-day operations of the shelter, including Pet Services, Intake, Foster, Volunteer, and Animal Care.
• Monitor health and wellbeing of animals and flow through the shelter; provide regular status reports to leadership.
• Ensure humane treatment and handling of all shelter animals; practice the Fear Free method.
• Hire, supervise, guide, provide feedback, and take disciplinary actions for direct reports.
• Mentor staff and provide training/development opportunities; conduct annual reviews.
