Job summary

MEI is seeking an Operations Manager in La Mirada, CA to oversee daily rigging/crating operations and drive efficiency, safety, and compliance. The role includes directing multiple departments, coordinating with vendors, and shaping policies and budgets under the General Manager's guidance.

The candidate should have 5–10 years in operations or construction, a Bachelor’s degree, strong leadership, and expertise with MS Office and ERP/Smartsheet.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in business/admin or related field.
• 5-10 years in construction/operations; rigging/crane industry experience preferred.
• Strong safety compliance knowledge and commitment to a safe workplace.
• Proven leadership and people management abilities; capable of directing teams.
• Proficiency with MS Office and ERP/Smartsheet for operations management.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate department activities to ensure resources meet job-specific requirements.
• Oversee administrative functions including training, onboarding, reporting, scheduling, and dispatch.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers so materials/equipment are ready and available.
• Establish and implement operational protocols including staffing and safety procedures.
• Set department goals with managers and the General Manager.
• Evaluate processes for compliance with laws, regulations, and client specs.
• Mentor employees and resolve conflicts; promote a safe, efficient workplace.
• Participate in job walks, equipment inspections, and budgeting considerations.
• Represent MEI to customers, vendors, and on-site contractors.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
