Job summary

ODW Logistics is seeking an Operations Lead to direct distribution center activities, oversee the warehousing team, and assist with loading/unloading as needed. The role emphasizes inventory integrity, process adherence, and cross-functional communication to support safe, efficient fulfillment.

Ideal candidates have a strong warehouse background, forklift experience, and proficiency with MS Office and AS400.

Qualifications

  • Forklift Experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, AS400, data entry and previous experience with web-based applications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Protect inventory accuracy and salability by following SOPs and cycle counts.
  • Direct the warehousing team and manage day-to-day operations.
  • Run reports to maximize building capacity and optimize space.
  • Complete inbound and outbound documentation accurately.
  • Communicate operational issues to supervisors and other departments.

Job description

Our extensive range of services include supply chain design and innovation, warehousing, efficient distribution and fulfillment, freight brokerage, transportation management, and specialized e-commerce fulfillment solutions.

Position Summary

The Operations Lead directs the logistics efforts of the distribution center and assists with loading and unloading product in the warehouse, and performing other material handling operations as needed.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Protects the accuracy, integrity, and salability of our client's inventory entrusted to us, through the adherence to standard operating procedures and meeting physical inventory and/or cycle count accuracy expectations.
  • Directs appropriate warehousing team.
  • Runs all necessary reports to determine effective action to maximize building capacity.
  • Completes all required documentation on inbound and outbound documents.
  • Reads and understands general instructions and prepare written reports.
  • Understands and uses company’s warehouse management system, and our time keeping system.
  • Handles all products according to customer and employer procedures.
  • Communicates changes in extraordinary handling procedures to office personnel. Completes warehouse worksheet.
  • Communicates and advises Supervisor of operational issues that may involve other departments.
  • Understands company goals and works to create an environment for success.
  • Supports company safety, quality, and productivity initiatives.
  • Interacts with various levels of local management concerning daily activities.
  • Complies with all other procedures outlined in the Operations & Procedure Manual.
  • Communicates effectively with Transportation, Warehouse, Management, Co-workers, and Customers.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

Education & Experience
  • Associate degree or equivalent education/work experience preferred
  • 3 – 5+ years of warehouse experience preferred
  • Forklift Experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, AS400, data entry and previous experience with web-based applications preferred

Physical & Mental Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee requires the ability to:

  • Hear, read and comprehend, write, and communicate
  • Continuously sit, type, and perform repetitive wrist motion
  • Occasionally stand, walk, bend, squat/kneel, twist/turn or reach
  • Focus (with or without corrective lenses) to see close and distant, along with depth perception capabilities
  • Work with material handling equipment that must be operated according to specific operating procedures
  • Spend 70 – 80% of time on warehouse floor in fast-paced environment
