Job summary

Velox Clearing LLC seeks interns to gain hands-on experience in clearing operations and financial systems. You will learn to reconcile client trades, monitor trading systems, and support connectivity and system needs.

Internships last 3 months with potential extension; on-site in Miami, with possible direct hire opportunities based on performance. FINRA SIE and Series 7 licenses may be required for full-time roles.

Our Operations team is looking for interns who want to not only flex their financial muscles but gain hands-on experience as we develop and implement new strategies and system that, we hope, will change the face of clearing firms. This position does come with the opportunity for direct hire.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As an intern, you will learn a variety of skills and responsibilities including:

• Reconciling daily client trade activity
• Monitoring and updating trading systems and risk checks
• Managing department system and connectivity related needs
• Interacting with clients and researching client activity as necessary
• Interacting with cashiering and stock loan as necessary for buy-ins, locates and funding
• Assisting with processing of security movements through DTC
• Assisting with the development and implementation of additional system functions as necessary
• Interacting with clearing brokers and executing counterparties for reconcilement items and deliveries

QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to identify and process risk related transactions and ensure escalation of red flags if appropriate
• Ability to efficiently handle a multitude of tasks while maintaining a low error rate
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, organization and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail
• A clean U4 background is required for this position.

EDUCATION

• Bachelors degree in finance, business, or related field (a minimum of 3 years completed)

LICENSE

• SIE (or willingness to complete)
• Series 7 license (or willingness to complete)

TERM OF INTERNSHIP
