Job summary

Hilltop Securities Inc. is seeking qualified students to join our Operations team as a Summer Intern. This in‑person program runs from May 24, 2027 to July 30, 2027, with opportunities located in downtown Dallas at our HTS Tower location and across the country at various branch locations.

Interns will gain hands‑on experience in the financial services industry, develop entry‑level skills, and assist with initiatives across the company while supporting daily operations and special projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Rising Junior or Senior pursuing business, finance, accounting, economics or related field preferred.
• Some experience (0–1 year) preferred but not required.
• Strong computer skills including Power Excel, SQL and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Support daily activities in purchase & sales, collateral, settlement, mutual funds, and government reporting.
• Contribute and participate in all assigned areas; handle multiple tasks.
• Work to solve real world problems and deliver measurable results.
• Help with ideas to improve current practices and create efficiencies.

Responsibilities

• Support daily activities/operations in relation including purchase & sales, collateral, settlement, mutual funds, stock transfers, and/or government reporting.
• Contribute and participate in all assigned areas; ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Work to solve real world problems and deliver measurable results.
• Help with ideas to improve current practices and create efficiencies
• Data analysis/data mining
• Special projects as requested.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Rising Junior or Senior pursuing business, finance, accounting, economics or related field is preferred
• Some experience (0 – 1 year) is preferred but not required
• Computer hardware, operating system (Windows or Mac), and software/application (MS Office, Internet Explorer, Outlook etc.) skills. Strong computer skills including Power Excel, SQL and PowerPoint
• Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills
• Proven self-starter who can initiate tasks and follow up to completion
• Exceptional time management and organizational skills
• Desire to learn about career opportunities in the financial services industry
• Candidate MUST have authorization to work for any employer in the US without requiring sponsorship, whether in student status or not

About The Team

The Operations department’s work is vital to the functionality and success of HilltopSecurities. The department provides back‑office support and service for the entire firm. With well over 100 employees ranging from specialists to senior managers, each individual plays a specific role in the overarching operation of the company. Operations’ areas of focus include clearance, settlement, unit investment trusts, government and mortgage‑backed securities, money market instruments, and OTC derivates. Our Operations professionals also manage transactions between mutual funds and insurance carriers and their respective investors.
