Entergy is seeking an Operations Training Instructor to develop and administer reactor operations training programs that meet NRC requirements. The role involves analyzing performance needs, designing training materials, and coordinating programs across sites and corporate groups.
The position requires 3+ years of front-line experience for instructor levels, with higher requirements for Sr roles including SRO licensure or certification, and excellent communication skills.
Conducts training for licensed, non-licensed operators, and shift technical advisors in reactor operations covering replacement, requalification, upgrade, etc., consistent with NRC (Nuclear Regulatory Commission) requirements. Develops and maintains operations training programs.
Administers training programs to ensure the availability of qualified and licensed personnel. Interfaces with line personnel to analyze performance needs and recommend appropriate training solutions. Analyzes, designs, develops, implements, and evaluates training materials and programs using the systematic approach to training. Administers and coordinates training programs for sites and corporate groups as assigned.
Minimum education required for the position 5 years of nuclear plant experience (commercial or military) or a B.S. Degree in education, engineering, or related technical degree or equivalent. Minimum experience required for the position Ops Instructor, Non-Licensed: At least 3 years of front-line experience (commercial or military) and technical proficiency in the area of instruction. Ops Instructor, Sr: At least 3 years of front-line experience (commercial or military) and technical proficiency in the area of instruction -AND - current or previously SRO licensed or certified. Ops Instructor, Sr Staff: At least five years of experience in the associated line organization. Desired: 3 years previously licensed as PWR SRO. Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position Technical proficiency in the assigned area. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
