Job summary

Holtec Decommissioning International (HDI) is seeking an Operations Instructor to join the Palisades Nuclear Plant team in Covert, MI. This role involves conducting licensed and non-licensed operator training, developing instructional materials, and maintaining training compliance. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in nuclear training and effective communication skills to enhance learning experiences in a comprehensive and inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Previous or current SRO license or certification.
• Experience teaching licensed operator training.
• Qualified instructor experience in classroom and simulator settings.
• Knowledge of systematic training approaches (SAT).

Responsibilities

• Develop instructional materials and conduct training in classroom, simulator, and lab settings for licensed and non-licensed operators.
• Maintain training programs in compliance with industry, regulatory, and legal standards, incorporating plant changes.
• Support station initiatives, outages, emergency planning, and participate in audits.
• Ensure training records are complete and auditable.
• Demonstrate leadership and uphold high standards in training environments.

Job Summary

Conducts licensed and non-licensed operator training, working closely with the Operations department to identify and address knowledge and performance gaps using appropriate training solutions.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop instructional materials and conduct training in classroom, simulator, and lab settings for licensed and non-licensed operators.
• Maintain training programs in compliance with industry, regulatory, and legal standards, incorporating plant changes.
• Support station initiatives, outages, emergency planning, and participate in audits.
• Ensure training records are complete and auditable.
• Demonstrate leadership and uphold high standards in training environments.

Minimum Requirements

• Previous or current SRO license or certification, with experience teaching licensed operator training.
• Qualified instructor experience in classroom and simulator settings.
• Knowledge of systematic training approaches (SAT).
• Effective communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or higher; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in relevant fields preferred, with at least four years of nuclear or related industry experience.
• Four years of nuclear plant experience or a related degree with training experience.

Certifications and Skills

• SRO license or certification for PWR/BWR.
• Industry and INPO certified instructor.
• Technical proficiency and excellent communication skills.
