Job summary

EOG Resources' Midland division is seeking a long-term contractor to join our Operations Geology team. The role provides engineering and geological guidance with well bore steering for horizontal wells, collaborating with geologists, mud loggers, reservoir engineers, and drilling engineers to optimize well paths.

The position is contractor-based with the potential to convert to full-time after several months, depending on performance and business needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geology, or Geophysics with 1–2 years oilfield-related experience preferred.
  • Experience or knowledge in planning of wells, drilling rig operations, geo-steering techniques, and mud logging practices is a plus.

Job description

EOG's Midland division is seeking a long term contractor to join our Operations Geology team. This opportunity will be contract position to start with the potential to concvert full time in sveral months.

Responsibilities:

Provide engineering and geological guidance and well bore steering for horizontal wells. This position will require working with geologists, mud loggers, reservoir engineers, and drilling engineers to ensure the correct well bore path is obtained. This function covers the disciplines of geology and engineering where knowledge of both the geology of various formations and the operational functions of directional drilling and proposed completion practices coexist. The candidate will be called upon to provide analysis for project decision-making based on sound technical review.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geology, or Geophysics, with 1-2 years engineering/geological experience in an oilfield-related position is preferred. Experience or knowledge in planning of wells, drilling rig operations, geo-steering techniques, and mud logging practices are considered a plus.

Position will be filled at a level commensurate with experience.
