Job summary

EOG Resources is seeking an engineer/geologist to provide guidance for horizontal wells, focusing on accurate well bore steering. You will work with geologists, mud loggers, reservoir and drilling engineers to ensure the optimal well path is achieved.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geology, or Geophysics.
  • 1–2 years of engineering/geological experience in oilfield-related positions preferred.
  • Experience or knowledge in planning wells, drilling rig operations, geo-steering, and mud logging is a plus.

Job description

Job Description

Provide engineering and geological guidance and well bore steering for horizontal wells. This position will require working with geologists, mud loggers, reservoir engineers, and drilling engineers to ensure the correct well bore path is obtained. This function covers the disciplines of geology and engineering where knowledge of both the geology of various formations and the operational functions of directional drilling and proposed completion practices coexist. The candidate will be called upon to provide analysis for project decision‑making based on sound technical review.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geology, or Geophysics, with 1-2 years engineering/geological experience in an oilfield‑related position is preferred. Experience or knowledge in planning of wells, drilling rig operations, geo‑steering techniques, and mud logging practices are considered a plus.

Position will be filled at a level commensurate with experience.
