Job summary

Irby Construction Company is seeking an Operations and Finance Specialist to support office operations, financial reporting, process coordination, and administrative activities for transmission projects statewide. This role collaborates with operations leadership and corporate teams to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and timely reporting in a fast-paced field-based environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in office administration, finance or accounting support, project coordination, or operations support.
• Experience supporting cross-functional teams and coordinating with field operations.
• Strong analytical skills and working knowledge of financial and job cost information.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel) and financial reporting tools.
• Experience using ERP systems and working with job cost data.
• Ability to interpret financial statements and project cost reports.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, analyze, and present weekly labor and equipment reports, including direct job costs.
• Support operations leadership with budgeting, cost tracking, job profitability, and variance analysis.
• Track labor productivity, equipment utilization, and overhead allocation, and flag significant variances for review.
• Support the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasting activities.
• Process and review accounts payable and job cost information in accordance with established internal controls.
• Identify financial trends, discrepancies, and unusual variances, and communicate findings to leadership for review.
• Review P&L statements and project cost reports and provide supporting information for leadership decision-making.
• Document office and operational processes and support improvements that increase efficiency and accuracy.
