Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in cost accounting with previous supervisory experience is required.
  • Manufacturing or operations finance experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is preferred.
  • Experience with Power BI and Power Automate is a plus.
  • Exposure to Office Scripts, VBA, and/or macros is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Own and continuously improve product costing, inventory valuation, and conversion cost methodologies.
  • Lead month-end inventory close activities and ensure timely, accurate cost reporting.
  • Analyze material price movements, variances, and trends for leadership insights.
  • Develop daily and soft-close processes to improve visibility into operations.
  • Mentor and develop finance team members and support performance planning.
  • Provide customized reporting and analysis related to inventory, costing, and COGS.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and modern tools.

Job description

Position Summary

The Operations Finance Manager plays a critical role at the intersection of finance, operations, and decision‑making. This position partners closely with Operations, Engineering, and cross‑functional leaders to deliver clear, timely, and actionable insights into product costing, inventory performance, and manufacturing efficiency.

This is an opportunity for an experienced operations finance professional to own and modernize costing and inventory processes, influence how the business evaluates performance, and help shape scalable, data‑driven practices across the organization. The role combines hands‑on leadership with continuous improvement, analytics, and systems enablement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive Costing and Operational Insight
  • Own and continuously improve product costing, inventory valuation, and conversion cost methodologies to ensure accuracy, transparency, and decision usefulness
  • Maintain and evaluate standards, bills of materials, and scrap factors in alignment with production processes and corporate policies
  • Lead month-end inventory close activities and ensure timely, accurate cost reporting
  • Analyze material price movements, variances, and trends, translating results into insights for Operations and Finance leadership
  • Develop daily and soft-close processes that improve visibility into operational performance and conversion costs
  • Investigate inventory losses and operational variances, identify root causes, and partner with Operations to drive improvement
  • Lead Budgeting and Forecasting
  • Lead, develop, and manage the annual budgeting and forecasting processes for raw materials and operations expenses
  • Support data governance and maintenance within the ERP system and expansion of software capabilities
  • Strengthen Inventory Processes and Procedures
  • Design, document, and maintain inventory-related policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Monitor adherence to controls and processes, strengthening accuracy and compliance
  • Build strong knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 and its integration points with MES and CMMS platforms
  • Develop People and Build Culture
  • Mentor and develop finance team members, foster continuous learning and skill growth
  • Contribute to a positive, engaged, and collaborative team environment
  • Support goal setting, performance tracking, and development planning for the team
  • Deliver Ad-hoc Analysis and Business Support
  • Provide customized reporting and analysis related to inventory, costing, and cost of goods sold
  • Partner with Operations and Engineering to evaluate scenarios, initiatives, and improvement opportunities
  • Support data-driven decision-making across the organization
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation, analytics, and modern tools
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications And Requirements
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college is required
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in cost accounting with previous supervisory experience is required
  • Manufacturing or operations finance experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is preferred
  • Experience with Power BI and Power Automate is a plus

  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, nested formulas, and analytical modeling
  • Interest in applying automation, data, and AI-enabled tools within finance workflows
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with all organizational levels

  • Self-directed, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities
