Job summary

Daisy Brand is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Wooster, Ohio plant. You will support safe, efficient operation of processing, packaging, and utilities, collaborating with Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations teams.

The ideal candidate has strong electrical, mechanical, and controls knowledge and hands-on experience with automated dairy equipment. We value reliability, GMP compliance, and the ability to lift 50 pounds and work 45 hours per week with some off-hours premium.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; technical certifications preferred.
• Electrical understanding: schematics, 480V 3 phase, low voltage controls, VFDs/servos.
• Mechanical skills: welding (MIG/TIG/Arc), pumps/valves/gears, pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
• Controls: Allen Bradley PLC knowledge (SLC 500, PLC-5, Logix 5000).
• Manufacturing: conveyors, case packers, boilers, ammonia refrigeration, wastewater systems.

Responsibilities

• Follow GMP and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
• Maintain and troubleshoot automated filling, packing, palletizing lines, and building utilities.
• Perform general building maintenance as needed.

Position Summary

We are looking for motivated individuals who are detail-oriented and exhibit a strong desire to learn and grow. While managing a 24/7 production operation, the Daisy Brand Maintenance Team strives to provide a work-life balance with an average of 45 hours/week. Maintenance Technicians are responsible for efficient and safe operation of all areas of the plant. This includes processing, packaging, warehouse, and the utilities that support all areas of the plant. Technicians will frequently collaborate and solve problems with Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations.

The ideal candidate will be well rounded in electrical, mechanical, and controls. The Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining highly technical and automated equipment to include fillers, case packers, and palletizers, also to include process systems, ammonia refrigeration equipment, high-pressure boilers, air compressors, and other building utilities.

Other Duties

• Follow Daisy Brand food safety and quality protocols.
• Follow GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), housekeeping and safe work practices.
• Other duties as assigned, including general building maintenance.

Qualifications And Requirements

Education and Experience

• High School diploma or G.E.D. required. Additional technical certifications are preferred.

• Must be able to understand and follow all GMP and Safety requirements.
• Proficiency in maintenance management software (CMMS) preferred.
• Experience in food/dairy production environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Must be able to stand, bend, lift, and twist throughout shift.
• Must be able to multitask while working with a team.

Compensation

• Competitive pay, based on experience and qualifications.
• 10% premium pay for off-hours work.
• 15% premium pay for weekend work.
