Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific is hiring a Financial Analyst I to contribute to financial excellence and business growth. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial analysis and insights that support strategic decision-making within the FP&A team.

Responsibilities include monthly close, forecasting, variance analysis and preparing business reviews. Bachelor's degree is required; CPA/ACCA/CIMA are a plus, and proficiency in Excel/PowerPoint and ERP systems is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; no prior experience needed.
• Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint is essential.
• Experience or familiarity with Hyperion, SAP, Oracle or similar ERP platforms is preferred.
• Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving abilities.

DESCRIPTION:

Join Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Financial Analyst I, where you'll contribute to financial excellence and business growth. As part of our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team, you'll help manage monthly closing processes, develop forecasts, analyze variances, and prepare business reviews. REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's Degree required, no prior experience required
• Professional certifications (CPA, ACCA, CIMA) are a plus
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience with financial systems such as Hyperion, SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP platforms
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with attention to detail
• Excellent communication abilities and interpersonal skills for collaborating in a matrix environment
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under deadlines
• Experience in financial forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis
• Knowledge of financial statements and accounting principles
• Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities and process improvement mindset
• Strong organizational skills
• Business fluency in English; additional languages may be required for specific locations
• Ability to manage and analyze large datasets
• Knowledge of Power BI or similar business intelligence tools preferred
• Willingness to travel up to 10% as needed
