Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a Financial Analyst I to join the FP&A team and deliver financial analysis and insights that support strategic decisions. You will help manage monthly closings, develop forecasts, and analyze variances to drive business growth.

In this role, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, prepare business reviews for senior leaders, and leverage Excel, Power BI, and ERP systems to analyze large datasets.

Qualifications

Join Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Financial Analyst I, where you’ll contribute to financial excellence and business growth. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial analysis and insights that support strategic decision-making. As part of our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team, you’ll help manage monthly closing processes, develop forecasts, analyze variances, and prepare business reviews. REQUIREMENTS :

• Bachelor’s Degree required, no prior experience required
• Preferred Fields of Study: Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or related field
• Professional certifications (CPA, ACCA, CIMA) are a plus
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience with financial systems such as Hyperion, SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP platforms
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with attention to detail
• Excellent communication abilities and interpersonal skills for collaborating in a matrix environment
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under deadlines
• Experience in financial forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis
• Knowledge of financial statements and accounting principles
• Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities and process improvement mindset
• Strong organizational skills
• Business fluency in English; additional languages may be required for specific locations
• Ability to manage and analyze large datasets
• Knowledge of Power BI or similar business intelligence tools preferred
• Willingness to travel up to 10% as needed
