  • Provides leadership to Engineering and Design staff.
  • Performs detailed calculations to establish construction and product standards and specs.
  • Prepares and studies technical drawings and electrical specifications.
  • Discusses projects with internal and external customers.
  • Inspects installations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specs.
  • Monitors and controls project activity to meet budgets and schedules.

The Operations Engineering Manager is responsible for ensuring that the key engineering duties are being fulfilled for the vertical they support and product development efforts. They are responsible for answering technical questions, proposing budgets for projects, providing guidance and leadership to their team, constantly building talent and capabilities within the team in support of customer needs, and collaborating with various other departments.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering; relevant disciplines include Electrical, Architectural, Mechanical, Process, Civil, Structural, Energy and Automation.
  • Experience: 12+ years of progressive experience within the defined relevant engineering fields. Or any combination of education and experience deemed appropriate by leadership.
  • Travel: 5-10%
  • Work Schedule: Typical work hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday. However, work may be performed at any time on any day of the week to meet business needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Participates in Customer / Project Interviews: Leads the Engineering portion.
  • Assigns engineering resources across multiple engineering teams to effectively deliver projects within a specific vertical.
  • Leads and directs project design, detailing and CAD effort on projects brought forward by the Group Manager or Project Manager within the assigned vertical business unit.
  • Provide performance evaluations and coaching to team members.
  • Prepares proposals and cost estimates for Engineering, modeling, detailing and CAD- related services.
  • Provides guidance to ensure that construction and product/manufacturing activities comply with specifications, codes, and customer requirements.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to Engineering and Design staff.
  • Performs detailed calculations to compute and establish construction and product/manufacturing standards and specifications.
  • Prepares and studies technical drawings, and electrical specifications to ensure that installations and designs conform to standards and customer requirements.
  • Confers with internal and external customers to discuss existing or potential construction and product/manufacturing projects.
  • Inspects completed installations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications.
  • Monitors and controls project activity to meet budgets and schedules.
  • Accountable for building skills, capabilities and team culture which aligns with FTI's core values.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
