Operations Director - HVAC & MEP Commercial Construction - Texas

Gryphon Oakwood are currently partnered with a leading mechanical specialty contractor in Texas, seeking an experienced Operations Director to support and oversee continued growth across their commercial construction division.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for an individual with a strong background delivering large-scale HVAC and MEP construction projects across Mission Critical, Government, Retail, and broader commercial markets. The successful candidate will play a key role in operational strategy, project execution, team leadership, and business growth throughout the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations across multiple HVAC & MEP construction projects
• Oversee project delivery from preconstruction through completion
• Drive operational efficiency, scheduling, manpower planning, and financial performance
• Manage and mentor Project Managers, Operations teams, and field leadership
• Support business development efforts and maintain strong client relationships
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget
• Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic growth initiatives across Texas

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading Ground Up HVAC & MEP commercial construction projects
• Strong exposure to Mission Critical/Data Center, Government, Retail, Healthcare, or large commercial sectors
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple large-scale projects and operations teams
• Strong financial acumen with responsibility for P&L, forecasting, and project performance
• Excellent leadership, communication, and client-facing skills
• Ability to drive growth while maintaining operational excellence
