Job summary

Challenge Unlimited, based at Scott Air Force Base in Mascoutah, IL, seeks a Director of Operations to oversee services for people with disabilities across multiple sites. The role drives budgeting, contract compliance, and client satisfaction while leading a diverse operations team.

The position requires a Bachelor’s in business or related field with 3+ years managing $1M+ contracts, strong communication, and a proven ability to lead teams and improve processes.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field; will consider equivalent experience.
• Experience: 3+ years of relevant experience managing large service contracts ($1M+), including customer service, planning, organizing, training, team supervision, budgeting, and quality control.
• Certifications/Licenses: CPCM, CIMS, or PMP preferred.
• Pre-Employment Tests and Computer Skills: Excel, Word.
• Computer Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Background Checks: Must pass criminal background check and registry checks.
• Driving: Must have valid driver’s license; company travel required.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission and core values of the company.
• Lead and oversee contracted management; ensure work aligns with SOW and policies.
• Make revenue/expense projections for future months and fiscal year.
• Monitor labor, supply, and equipment expenses and advise on budgets.
• Provide data for contract renewals and negotiations; measure performance with KPIs.
• Oversee operations, safety, quality standards, and ISO/compliance requirements.
• Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct, and evaluate Operations’ activities; mentor the team.
• Perform other related duties as required.
