Job summary

YMCA of the Rockies at Estes Park Center seeks an Operations Director to translate strategy into operational excellence and foster a culture of hospitality and accountability. You will lead department heads, drive guest experiences, and ensure mission-driven service across the center.

The role requires strategic and hands-on leadership, collaboration with staff and stakeholders, and commitment to core YMCA values. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of management experience in the hospitality industry.
• Demonstrated experience supervising, coaching, and developing staff.
• Experience managing budgets and applying accounting procedures and financial controls.
• Excellent judgment, leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to resolve guest and staff concerns professionally and collaborate effectively across departments.
• Strong computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to speak, read, and write fluently in English.
• A valid U.S. state-issued driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and YMCA vehicle operation eligibility.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Job description

The Operations Director provides strategic and operational leadership for YMCA of the Rockies, Estes Park Center, a $35 million mission-based family and group conference and retreat center serving approximately 150,000 guests annually. As a member of the YMCA of the Rockies' senior leadership team, this position is responsible for translating organizational strategy into operational excellence while fostering a culture of hospitality, accountability and mission-driven service.

The Operations Director must be equally effective as a strategic leader and a visible, hands-on operational leader, fostering a culture of trust, connection and accountability through authentic relationships with staff, guests and other key stakeholders. This position leads a team of department heads and is accountable for the overall performance, culture and guest experience of the Estes Park Center.
