Job description

Location: Dallas-Fort Worth | Texas & Oklahoma

Director of Operations | Heavy Equipment Dealership

ProSight Talent is partnering with a growing heavy equipment dealership to find a Director of Operations who can help turn expansion into lasting operational success. With a growing footprint and new facilities, this is an opportunity to shape how the business operates, build strong teams, and establish the standards that will support its next stage of growth.

Based in DFW, this leader will oversee branch, parts, and service operations across current and future locations. You will lead Branch, Parts, and Service Managers, connecting day-to-day execution with customer satisfaction, revenue growth, and net profitability.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable reviewing financial performance with leadership, working through a service challenge in the shop, and coaching a manager—all with a clear understanding of how those decisions affect the business.

The Role
  • Deliver profitable growth. Own branch and departmental P&Ls, budgets, revenue, margins, and expenses. Identify opportunities, address underperformance, and hold managers accountable for results.
  • Build a consistent operation across locations. Establish practical processes, clear expectations, and meaningful KPIs that support both existing branches and new facilities.
  • Strengthen service performance. Improve shop and field productivity, turnaround times, billing accuracy, repair quality, and warranty recovery.
  • Optimize parts operations. Oversee purchasing, stocking, inventory accuracy, turnover, and interbranch logistics to improve availability while managing working capital.
  • Develop leaders and teams. Recruit, coach, and retain managers, technicians, and support staff. Build management capability as the organization expands.
  • Grow the aftermarket business. Increase parts and service revenue through customer retention, business development, and strong relationships with contractors and fleet customers.
  • Protect the customer experience. Resolve escalated issues and maintain productive relationships with the equipment manufacturer and suppliers.
  • Prepare for expansion. Support new facility readiness, staffing, capacity planning, capital investments, safety, and compliance.
The Experience You Bring
  • 10+ years in heavy or construction equipment dealerships or closely related operations, including at least five years in management.
  • Multi-location leadership experience with direct responsibility for parts and service performance.
  • Demonstrated success improving revenue, profitability, operational efficiency, and team performance.
  • Strong command of P&L management, budgeting, pricing, inventory, and financial analysis.
  • Working knowledge of construction equipment, diesel engines, shop operations, and mobile service.
  • The ability to set clear expectations, develop managers, and follow through on accountability.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Excel and dealership management systems; IntelliDealer experience preferred.
  • Experience opening facilities, integrating locations, or supporting dealership expansion is a plus.
