Job summary

Fortrex is seeking a Crew Manager to lead a production team on site and ensure daily targets are met safely and efficiently. You will collaborate with Operations Management to improve processes, document production data accurately, and hold team members and management accountable for safe operations.

This role is based in a manufacturing plant, with exposure to PPE and a strong emphasis on food safety practices and compliance. Strong leadership and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of industrial manufacturing experience.
• 2 years supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Be accountable for team member safety.
• Oversee daily monitoring: safety/housekeeping checklists; process control; regulatory/compliance monitoring (air, water, SQF, GMP).
• Oversee execution of daily production plan as provided by Chem Ops Management.
• Develop the skill set of team members.
• Ensure high housekeeping standards for production facilities.
• Assist warehouse personnel with packaging, raw material, and product movements.
• Other duties as assigned.

JOB DESCRIPTION

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:

• Be accountable for team member safety.


• Oversee the completion of daily monitoring to include: safety/housekeeping checklists; process control conditions (temperature, pressure, level, etc); regulatory/compliance monitoring (air, water, SQF, GMP); and other monitoring as requested by Management.


• Oversee the execution of the daily production plan as provided by Chem Ops Management.


• Develop the skill set of team members.


• Ensure high housekeeping standards for production facility(s) are maintained.


• Assist warehouse personnel with packaging, raw material, and product movements.


• Other duties as assigned.

YOUR MUST HAVES:

• 18 years of age or older.


• High school Diploma or General Education Diploma (“GED”).


• 2 years of industrial manufacturing experience.

WHAT WE PREFER YOU HAVE:

• 2 years of industrial manufacturing supervisory experience

OUR ENVIRONMENT:

This position is based in our manufacturing plant environment. Expected exposure to wet, hot, cold, various shifts, requiring Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Constant(role requires thisactivity more than 66% of the time (5.5+ hrs/day)
Use of fingers and hands. Lift/Carry 10 lbs or less & push/pull 12 lbs or less.

Frequently(role requires this activity from 33% - 66% of the time (2.5 - 5.5+ hrs/day)
Stand, climb stairs, walk, sit, reach outward, squat/kneel, bend. Lift/Carry 11-50 lbs & push/pull 13-40 lbs.

Occasional(role requires this activity up to 33% of the time (0 - 2.5+ hrs/day)
Climb & crawl. Lift/Carry 51+ lbs & push/pull 41-100 lbs.
