Canteen, a Compass Group company, is hiring an Operations Controller in an in-office role in the Lakeland, FL area. The position focuses on managing accounting activities across assigned accounts and supporting the Regional Director of Finance.

Preferred candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with at least five years of revenue control, financial reporting, and cash handling experience in foodservice or retail. Strong Excel and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum five years’ experience in revenue control, financial reporting and cash handling.
• Experience in foodservice or retail industry preferred.
• Proficient in analyzing financial statements, budgets and forecasts.
• Strong Excel and MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversees cash handling procedures and reconciliations.
• Performs balance sheet analysis and monthly closings.
• Prepares monthly financial statements and internal/external reports.
• Maintains inventory controls and cost procedures.
• Assists with payroll administration and HR tasks.
• Develops forecasts, budgets, and risk/opportunity assessments.
• Resolves accounting and reconciliation issues as they arise.
• Ensures accurate general ledger postings and reporting.
