Job description

Position Title: Operations Consultant

Location: New York NY 10010 (Hybrid 3 Days onsite - 2 Days Remote)

Duration: 06 Months (Possible Extension/Conversion)/ No C2C

***Due to client requirements this role is only open to USC OR GC candidates***

Role Requirements:

We are seeking an experienced Risk Operations Consultant to support the day-to-day execution of an enterprise AI risk governance program. This role sits at the center of a fast-moving, cross-functional process and helps ensure AI use cases move through governance review accurately, efficiently, and on a timely basis.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable coordinating across multiple stakeholders and priorities. This person will manage workflow and documentation, coordinate governance meetings and follow-up, communicate with business and risk partners, and help ensure the governance process operates effectively.

Experience in AI governance is valuable, but not required. Strong candidates may come from risk, compliance, governance, program operations, or similar roles in complex organizations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Governance Operations & Workflow: Coordinate the intake and progression of AI use cases through the risk review process, including reviewing submissions for completeness, maintaining work queues and status information, routing requests, tracking follow-ups, and escalating issues when appropriate.
  • Meeting Coordination: Support governance forums by coordinating meetings, preparing agendas and materials, documenting decisions and action items, and ensuring follow-up activities are completed.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Serve as a central point of coordination for business requestors and members of the governance team. Provide clear and timely process communications and status updates.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate, organized, and audit-ready governance records, procedures, templates, and supporting documentation. Prepare recurring status updates and operational reporting for the team and leadership.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Approximately 3-6 years of relevant experience in governance operations, risk or compliance operations, program operations, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting governance or risk assessment workflows, or other cross-functional governance operations.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple requests, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to recognize when an issue requires escalation or a substantive risk or leadership decision.
  • Experience in financial services, insurance, or AI risk governance is a plus.
Success in this Role

This role is well suited for someone who enjoys bringing structure and discipline to complex processes. The successful candidate will be proactive, responsive, comfortable working with multiple stakeholders, and able to keep workflows moving without losing sight of details.

You do not need to be an AI technical expert. We are looking for someone with strong organizational and communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage workflows with precision, timeliness, and ownership. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, responsive, and comfortable coordinating across a cross-functional environment.
