Job summary

Southern Company Gas is seeking a senior project leader to drive multiple complex Pipeline Safety Management, Operations, Technology Organization, and Compliance initiatives. You will coordinate participation in the AGA Best Practices Benchmarking Program, prepare SMEs, and develop executive reports using benchmarking data.

The role requires strong analytical and leadership skills, experience with Power BI and Excel, and the ability to navigate regulatory frameworks across gas operations.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in engineering, computer science, accounting or related discipline with a process development focus.
• 3-4 years progressive experience in broad-based business and process development (level 6).
• 5+ years progressive experience in broad-based business and process development (level 7).
• 2+ years experience managing process project.
• 2+ years engineering or operations experience in a gas utility, pipeline transmission, or other energy related field.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates Southern Company Gas’s participation in the AGA Best Practices Benchmarking Program ensuring SMEs are prepared and complete data collection by deadlines.
• Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to develop and produce operational benchmarking measures.
• Formulates and creates Operational benchmarking reports for executive leadership using AGA data points.
• Provides research support to identify Operations and Compliance trends and activities.
• Uses analytical tools such as Power BI and Excel to process data into meaningful output for leadership.
• Leads multiple, complex Operations and Compliance projects and programs.
• Evaluates and incorporates local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and tariffs related to gas operations.
• Writes documentation supporting Operations and Compliance policies, procedures, processes, and project lifecycle activities.
