Job summary

Southern Company Gas seeks a Construction Manager to lead a department of construction management professionals. You will oversee delivery of capital projects with emphasis on safety, quality, schedule, and budget, and maintain people, processes, and technology for continuous improvement.

The role supports a portfolio of projects up to $200 million annually, including gas distribution and transmission initiatives, with regular cross-functional collaboration and leadership development for staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• BA/BS degree in construction management or business, engineering (mechanical, civil, electrical, chemical, petroleum).
• Preferred: PMP or PMI-CP.

Responsibilities

• Portfolio Oversight & Planning – reviews project information and prepares multi-year outlooks.
• Process Standardization – maintains templates for construction processes.
• Financial Stewardship – monitors metrics, approves estimates, advises Engineering.
• Construction Support Functions – manages inspection systems, data collection, materials.
• Contract Management – develops blanket and project contracts to maximize value.
