Job summary

Knobelsdorff Enterprises seeks a Compliance Specialist to serve as the subject matter expert on policies across the Energy Division, ensuring adherence to federal/state requirements for multiple project locations.

You will educate leadership, PM teams, and subcontractors on applicable rules, develop wage determinations, and oversee payroll reporting to maintain good standing with regulatory programs, while collaborating across KE divisions.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of experience in operations, administration, compliance, quality, safety, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience maintaining records, documentation, and compliance‑related reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to interpret and follow company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure division leadership, project management teams, and subcontractors understand and comply with applicable requirements on a project‑by‑project basis.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for all subcontractors used by the division and ensure master service agreements are in place and compliant.
  • Coordinate with KE project management to maintain awareness of subcontractor activity on sites.
  • Create project wage determinations and other documents for subcontractors to ensure compliance with prevailing wage and apprenticeship requirements.
  • Educate subcontractors on reporting requirements including payroll and proper worker classifications.
  • Assist in payroll data collection and submission for site setup and reporting.

Job Description

Purpose:

Serve as the subject matter expert on compliance related policies and procedures within the Energy Divisionensuring strict adherence to policies acrossprojectlocations.

Responsibilities:

  • Research and educate yourself on applicable policies at both state and federal levels affecting the industryand markets the division works in.
  • Ensure division leadership, project management teams, and subcontractors understand andcomply withapplicable requirements on a project‑by‑project basis.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for all subcontractors used by the division. Ensuremaster service agreementsare in placefor partners, and they areoperatingwithin the parameters of anyapplicablefederal, state, orother site‑specific compliance requirements.
  • Ensure awareness of all subcontractor activity on sites through coordination and touchpoints with KE projectmanagement teams.
  • Createproject wage determinations and other applicabledocuments for subcontractorsand project management teamson a site‑by‑site basisto ensure compliance with prevailing wage and apprenticeship requirements.
  • Educate subcontractors on reporting requirements for each site,includingpayment of prevailingwage, proper classification of workers, certified payroll requirements, and entries intoapplicablecertified payrolltracking systems.
  • In coordination with the Payroll Supervisor, issue registration forms for applicable payroll reporting software programs to all subcontractors. Ensure forms are returnedin a timely mannertofacilitateKE payroll entering necessary information for site set‑up.
  • Maintain liaison with subcontractors through execution of on-site work andsubsequentpayroll and reporting requirements. Ensurea timelyfeedback loop between subcontractors and KE payrollregardingprogress updates of subcontractors entering necessary information.
  • Weekly, oversee theaccurateassignment of prevailing wage classifications on employee time entries,taking into accountemployee’s position,statusand applicable ratios.
  • Monitor required metrics on asite‑by‑sitebasis throughout the life cycle of the project and report any shortfalls to managementimmediately.
  • In coordination with payroll,assistin auditing as necessary to answer customerinquiries.
  • In coordination with divisionleadership,prepare andsubmitrequired applicationsandcompliance reports necessarytomaintaingood standing with state and federal programs.

The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $70,000 per year depending on experience.
